Why dehydrated?
To bring the most nutritious pet food to consumers, SuperPetfoods produces dehydrated food, which offers the same convenience of kibble with superior nutrition
The premium alternative for those wanting better foods
- Dehydrated food is a great option for dog owners looking for the nutrition and value of a raw diet, without the cost and inconvenience of a raw diet. Studies also suggest a link between raw diets and dangerous health outcomes. Cooking prior to dehydration mitigates these concerns.
- As convenient as kibble: shelf life and storage of dehydrated dog food is typically around 12-18 months. The removal of moisture and inclusion of ingredients with antioxidant properties helps to maintain shelf life.
- The ingredients are gently heated in a non intrusive manner that removes moisture without generating toxic compounds or destroying the natural flavors or value of micro-nutrients.
Kibble is associated with negative health impacts
- The high heat of the extrusion process to make kibble leads to the formation of carcinogens and is linked to numerous dangerous health outcomes in dogs.
- Kibble is made with byproducts, feed-grade rather than human-grade ingredients, and lots of additives and preservatives to prevent the fat from becoming rancid. Some commonly used preservatives have been controversial, such as ethoxyquin, BHA, and BHT.
